Winter blooms

I love having fresh flowers in the house. My sitting room just doesn’t feel complete with a couple of big bunches of blooms, and a few little posies in vases. I’m normally a fan of bright, summery colours (you can’t beat a bunch of yellow tulips or roses), but right now I really want to get festive and decorate the house with rich red blooms and dark green foliage.

I’m particularly take with Bloom & Wild’s Gemma arrangement, which is currently £25.50 (they are running a Black Friday discount. Who isn’t?)

Have you tried Bloom & Wild yet? They deliver flowers through your letterbox, ready for you to arrange, which means you don’t need to worry whether you (are the person you’re sending them to) will be out. Though, saying that, I had some delivered and the postman failed to grasped the concept of them being ‘letterbox flowers’ and left them with a neighbour. But I think that was more his misunderstanding than B&W’s.

I also really love the concept behind Flowerbox, another delivery service…

A bunch of 12 red amaryllis costs £45. They sell bunches of single blooms, which I love. It’s nice to have a mix, but sometimes a cluster of all one variety of flowers has all the impact you need.

M&S’s Essence of Christmas bouquet, £25, is also really sweet.

I can’t resist the little pine cones!

And for anyone looking for a little inspiration for their own Christmas flowers, how about a little feast for the eyes from Pinterest…
